  • 2 tablespoons ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped


  • Heat enough peanut oil in a heavy, large pot to reach a depth of 3 inches. Preheat the oil over medium-high heat to 375°F (190°C).
  • In batches, fry the green beans in the hot oil until they begin to brown in spots, approximately 30 seconds per batch. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the beans to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of water with the cornstarch. Set aside.
